planting paradise

living in the here and now, planning for a future, learning from the past

we are influenced by permaculture, biodynamism and lots of wise people that have taught us and we learn something every day. Mainly through mistakes...
Our main aim is to feed ourselves and the many visitor/helpers that pass through. This means preserving during the season of plenty, and learning to eat what we can produce or find, as gathering in the 'wild' is a fulfilling experience.
The manure is from our animals, we have five seperate composting 'areas' and are interested in humanure. we are installing a grey water reed bed system (looking for help with this) too.
We have a small greenhouse, which helps extend our seasons, and at the moment have been concentrating on cuttings of roses, lavender, rosemary .. the children came home from school having spent a day taking cuttings with their wonderful 'directeur' - Vincent and Vicoria a mother and proceeded to help me do the same at home, thus we have a few trays of lavender and rosemary cuttings. wonderful.
we are planting herbs and hedges, trees and tomatoes, making oils and drying herbs, pickles and jams, passata and tomato ketchup, plan to dry tomatoes and grapes. Herbes de provence? forget it, Herbes de Fa is going to take off!!! sage sticks (for smudging) are a speciality - they are wonderful and organic and homemade!!!!
