The Lord Hood pub in Creek Road is going to be one of the main venues at the Festival, with something on nearly every day. All gigs are free.

The opening Saturday(September 18th) will see the workshop groups and bands associated with CL Jazz from 12.00 onwards -about 10 sets in all ranging from big bands to quartets in the swing to modern jazz range. In the evening from 8.30.p.m. the Leaside Jazzmen from Luton way will be playing their brand of Chicago style dixieland jazz.

Sunday afternoon hosts the Sinatra singalong with ace pianist Julian where there is an open mike session for Ratpack style vocalists. The Hood provides a delicioius free buffet during this singalong. This will be followed at 6.00.p.m. by the Boogie Cats, playing jump jive in the style of Louis Jordan.

Monday night has the jigs, jugs, skiffle and blues of Rebels without Applause.

And on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes there will be a Jazz Brunch. Special mention needs to be made of the famous Lord Hood eatery, supplying delicious meals and snacks at half or one third of the price of nearby food outlets. You can get a bacon sandwich with salad for £1 and a roast chicken dinner for £2.50.

The Thursday band is the Brunch Bunch, now in the second year, who are resident weekly at the Hood, others to be announced.

There will be a Saturday afternoon gig on the 25th, band to be announced, and end the week with another singalong, before bopping along to the end of Festival jam session at the Trafalgar Tavern.
