Cutty Sark Tavern will be hosting New Orleans jazz again this year with the Dumaine Street New Orleans Jazz Band inviting trumpeter John 'Kid' Simmons from New Orleans to guest with the band - date to be decided. Kid Simmons leads a band in New Orleans and although originally from England has lived for 40 years in the Crescent City, working at Preservation Hall. The Dumaine Street New Orleans band played at the first Greenwich Jazz Festival and has played every year since then - probably the only band to have done this.

Another featured band will be the Wenlock Echoes with Pete Dyer on trombone. Pete is a veteran of the New Orleans Jazz scene in London, having been a founder member of the Barry Martyn Ragtime Band.

During the week the skiffle group Slow and Easy will be harking back to the halcyon days of the l950s when just about every superstar of rock started out as a skiffle group including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
